Quartz Cluster Ring
This ring starts out with a geode, not so pretty on the outside but gorgeous sparkling crystals once we crack them open. We crack a lot of geodes in half, to find ones that have prettiest formed crystals inside. When we find crystals we like, we hammer and chisel them out. Often the rough parts of the crystal needs to be hammered off. We then go through the pile of crystals we chiseled out, and hand select ones that are a good shape and look for these rings. Each ring is completely unique, especially with these naturally formed clusters. Each one will have their own natural look, size, and shape.

All Little Sycamore jewelry is lead & nickel free. These rings are formed in pure copper and plated in the thickest possible plating of rose gold. The plating is 3 microns thick, which is much thicker than typical plated jewelry.
The process: I start out with a handmade hammered band, which gives the ring a lot of pretty texture. A lot of time is spent arranging the stones onto the band, hand-picking the prettiest stones to use and finding the positioning that looks best with those stones. After finding the perfect design, the mounting is shaped and sanded to get the prettiest shape, and the ring is carefully painted with conductive paint. Using an electric current, metal deposits onto the ring and around the base of the stones for 12+ hours,. Every few hours, I check on them, rotate the pieces, repaint with conductive paint, and hooking them back up to the electrodes to have the metal build up until it is complete. This slow build up of metal creates a unique and organic looking setting that very securely holds the stones in place. The ring is tumbled, hand-polished, and plated in a very thick layer of gorgeous rose gold. Long story short... a whole lot of time and love is put into this little beauty!
