Rad and Happy Ring • Silver
Designed by Tara from Rad & Happy (https://www.radandhappy.com) aka my sister aka the coolest person I know. Seriously I love this girl so much and it sounds cliche but she really is the best sister I ever could have been blessed with. And I'm just really excited to be doing this collaboration with my favorite human.
When Tara first saw these Black Tourmaline crystals she told me that these stones looked very "Rad & Happy-ish"
Several months later when we started working together to design the Rad & Happy Ring, she had lots of different ideas, but just kept coming back to these stones. She loved the beautiful simplicity of a single vertical stone on the ring. Tara decided to do the Rad & Happy Ring with a singular square/rectangular shaped Black Tourmaline crystal in silver, and I'm pretty sure you're going to be as obsessed with them as we are!
The Rad & Happy Ring is a perfect mix of the two of us as sisters. They are a neutral black color and geometric in shape, fitting the Rad & Happy brand oh so well. But they're also not perfectly shaped; they're natural crystals that have a raw look to them, which is the look of my Little Sycamore style. With us as sisters being so opposite from each other, but also strangely similar in random ways, I feel like this is the perfect mix between Little Sycamore and Rad & Happy.
Each ring is handmade using raw, natural crystals. The beauty of this is that every piece will turn out perfectly unique. Because of this, please expect variation in the size and shape of the crystals.
If you want a ring size that is not listed, select "Other Ring Size" from the drop down menu (this custom size option is only available the first day of every month). Custom sizes take longer. Refer to FAQ for processing times.
All Little Sycamore jewelry is lead & nickel free. These rings are formed in pure copper and plated in the thickest possible plating of silver. The plating is 10 microns thick, which is much thicker than typical plated jewelry.
The process: I start out with a handmade hammered band, which gives the ring a lot of pretty texture. I spend a lot of time sorting through to find the prettiest stones and then arranging them onto the band with the prettiest side of the crystal facing out. The setting is sanded to form the shape we like best, and then the ring is carefully painted with conductive paint. Using an electric current, metal deposits onto the ring and around the base of the stones for 12+ hours. This slow build up of metal creates a unique and organic looking setting that very securely holds the stones in place. The ring is tumbled, hand-polished, and plated in a very thick layer of gorgeous silver. Long story short... a whole lot of time and love is put into this little beauty!
